Manual for Effon Scanners
This is a manual for Effon scanner NS02. Scanner FE02 uses the same BLE protocol is likely compatible.
On the other hand, scanners T3 and TG03 are different and cannot be used with Gonector.
Effon NS02 glove scanner initial setup
- Reset the device by scanning these two barcodes.
- Scan the following barcode to start name configuration.
- Set the name of the scanner to "Effon NS02" so that Gonector can identify it (you can set a different name but it must begin with "Effon").
- Switch to Bluetooth Low Energy mode (the led should alternate between blue and green).
- Verify that your iOS device has Bluetooth on
- Run Gonector_Connect("Effon NS02") to connect to it (no pairing is needed).
- Optional: If you want your scanner to report barcode types alongside the decoded string, please scan the barcode below (this activates the AIM code prefix which is automatically parsed by Gonector). However, with some versions of firmware, the device can stop reacting to Effon configuration barcodes as usual. See troubleshooting below.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues with the scanner and how to resolve them. If it does not resolve your issue, please contact our support.
- The scanner doesn't respond to configuration barcodes any more.
This is caused by AIM code prefix. You need to turn it off by scanning the barcode below.
- The scanner is acting strangely.
If the scanner behaves strangely, try to repeat the initialization process above.
- The scanner suddenly disconnects and starts flashing with turquoise color.
This can happen when you hold the scan button for 8 seconds. It will automatically switch to HID mode which is incompatible with Gonector. You will need to scan the Bluetooth Low Energy barcode.
- The scanner is not discovered by Gonector.
Please make sure that the scanner is in BLE mode (it flashes in green and blue) and that you set up name of the device correctly (it should begin with "Effon"). You can verify this with third party applications, like BLE Scanner 4.0 or LightBlue or with our SimpleTalk BLE plug-in for FileMaker.
